your oil should be topped off whenever it is below the add line which is 1 quart low and changed every 3 months or 3,000 miles How fast does it go through the oil? You'll be ok if you add when it gets to the add line, and fill it to the full line. If you're going through more than a quart between oil changes, you're using too much.

According to the owner's manual, 5w30. Check your oil level frequently, as the piston was designed without oil-drain holes in the piston lands. This can result in the oil control ring being gummed up by burnt oil and higher than normal usage/burning of oil. The engine is still running fine, you just need to top off the oil.

How do you use petrol and oil mixing bottles?

I would assume that this is for mixing regular petrol with a 2-stroke engine oil. The mixing bottle normally has an initial level to fill with petrol which should be about 98% of the total volume. You then top up with 2-stroke oil to the final fill level. Therefore there should be two graduation levels near to the top of the bottle.
