Most of the Mexican influence, can found in language and cuisine. For the language, many Mexican immigrants and Mexican-Americans or simply Americans of Mexican descent speak Spanish as a native. Although, not only Mexicans but Cubans and Puerto Ricans also contribute to the Spanish language in the southern and western United States. The food, is also influenced American cuisine. Flour tortillas and nachos are Tex-Mex cuisine. Meaning, you won't find them in Mexico. Real tacos are made with corn tortilla and chicken, but Tex-Mex tacos are made with flour tortillas and beef. Taco Bell, is based off of Tex-Mex cuisine. Not Mexican food. The Now and Later candies, are of Mexican origin.
Oh, also the pinata tradition in which a colorful cardboard box (usually in a certain type of design) is hit with a bat/stick and a bunch of candy or money spills out as the children run towards it and play war. That is also SIGNIFICANTLY passed on to non-Mexican families in the United States. Just about every American family does some kind of pinata for birthday parties. So that is also as popular in America as it is in Mexico.
