First of all the classification of the word "war" will have to be agreed upon. WWI, WWII, US Civil War, Spanish-American War of 1898, Korea, Vietnam, etc. were all Fought against a nation. Those nations being: Germany, Japan, Spain, North Korea, North Vietnam, etc. In "Operation Enduring Freedom" in Afghanistan...the United States of America is NOT at war with Afghanistan! Therefore, the "longest war" against what nation???
1. The US is NOT at war with the country (the nation) of Afghanistan. The US was at war the nation of North Vietnam. Therefore is it a war or a hunt for terrorists? 2. US military presence and casualties occurred in Vietnam in 1956, ending in 1975. 3. The US Operation Enduring Freedom started in about OCTOBER 2001; immediately following the Sept 11, 2001 attack.
There were many more than just two, but Korea and Vietnam were the largest and most serious of the Cold War 'skirmishes."
What the war in Vietnam was... it was a SHAME. Our troops were involved in a conflict that is no different than the conflicts in Afghanistan or Iraq. The brave young men and women fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq are seen as heroes; the brave young men and women who fought in Vietnam were seen as trash, killers, and every other imaginable degrading name. The main difference between these conflicts... the American news media. Please, when you meet a Vietnam Vet, take the time to thank them for their service and tell them how sad America should be that these brave soldiers were treated the way they were.
Australia is bigger than Vietnam.
There is no proper answer to this question. This is because the health in Afghanistan before the conflict was awful already. The health has been made obviusly worse by the conflict, as the sanitation the people need is less than before.

The United States have fought several wars for longer than six years, such as the American Revolution, the Vietnam War, and the Iraq War, but the only war that the US has been fighting for more than six years and still continues to be fought is the War in Afghanistan.
Aryana than khorasan than afghanistan!
that is sure to be far worse than what happened in Vietnam and that is why Obama is fit to be known as Gorbachev of the US
Because it has been more than 30 years that the people of Afghanistan are living in bad situation, in this case these countries are in Afghanistan for destroying the terrorism
no
sharks have been longer than turtles
Some may, but being a former Vietnam POW does not automatically mean that one has a shorter, or longer, than normal life expectancy.
