When the men went off to fight for the first time the American/Canadian Governments asked the women to help their Nations by working in the plants and other industries while the men were off fighting the war. That they did! That's where the American "Rosie the Riveter" came from. They helped build planes, worked in munitions plants, packed parachutes, became secretaries in the Corps, etc. The big mistake the governments made was when the men came back from war and the women were basically told to go back home to their ironing and cleaning house and the men got their jobs back! The women for the first time had a taste of working and they knew they were better than just staying home and scrubbing, cleaning, looking after kids and keeping their mouths shut. They fought back, and some did get jobs and every generation is proving that women are quite capable of doing many jobs and holding high positions in corporations. Women today are scientists, doctors, lawyers, etc.
the population of women in the military has changed over time for three decades now
The war really introduced women into the workforce. Pre-WW2, a woman's place, truly was, in the kitchen. But when the men went off to war, somebody needed to work the factories, so women took the jobs.
the role of women changed immensly after world war two. As the soldiers returned, women were made redundant from their jobs, and men were able to take their old ones back. All over the country, what women had feared would happen after the war, was happening. The role of women decreased, and they saw a shift into the household once again. The governmental propoganda made sure that this would happen.
They were accepted
women played a very important role during world war 1. While men were out fighting in the war, women went out of the homes to the mills to help in the production process.

Women changed because woman began to enter into professions previously dominated by men.
During the 1920s (1918-1929), after the World War I, is the age when the role of women had changed from passive to active in society. Women were much more than just looking after their children and doing housework at home. They began to work outside and attend school. They had become more independent both financially and literally. Therefore the employment pattern had changed and women had become increasingly important.

The role of women in today's world is diverse and expanding. Women are making significant contributions in all sectors of society, including business, politics, science, education, and the arts. While progress has been made towards gender equality, there are still areas where women face challenges related to discrimination, inequality, and access to opportunities. Efforts to empower women and promote gender equity are ongoing to create a more inclusive and equal society.
