The fuel mixtue has gone lean.
More information is needed to answer this question properly, such as; is the engine a 4 or 6 cylinder. In the case of a 6 cylinder, their are 2 exhaust manifolds; the front exhaust manifold is located under the hood between the radiator and the engine: when you check your oil level by grasping the dipstick your hand will be just a few inches above the exhaust manifold. Basically, follow the exhaust pipe(s) to the engine and where it connects to a device that splits the exhaust 3 or 4 ways, that device is your exhaust manifold.
It should be on the intake or exhaust manifold.
In the exhaust pipe, near the manifold. The 4 cylinder has 2, the V6 has 4.
On models 99-97, 4 cylinder you can find it in between air filter/battery and the exhaust manifold.
on the passenger side of the engine below the exhaust manifold on both 6 and 4 cylinder models on the passenger side of the engine below the exhaust manifold
It is screwed into the exhaust manifold on the rear of the engine.
You Must take the exhaust off at the manifold.
One is installed in the exhaust manifold another one is the exhaust pipe just under the passenger seat.
asuming the vehicle has a 4 cylinder, the exhaust manifold would be facing the radiator. 6 cyl. would also have one facing the firewall. You can figure it out simply by tracing your exhaust system from back to front. tail pipe - muffler - exhaust pipe - catalytic converter - exhaust pipe - exhaust manifold - engine.
If your 1988 Chevrolet Celebrity has the V6 engine the oxygen sensor is in the middle of the exhaust manifold nearest the firewall. If you have the 4 cylinder engine the oxygen sensor is located in the exhaust manifold just above the exhaust pipe flange.
after exhaust manifold, before catalytic converter.
