I'm currently having my apartment being treated for these disgusting little vampires, and it is a drawn out process. I have to effectively be the bait while my bed frame is coated with a chemical that causes them to die slowly.
This is basically because spraying extensively and using fogger / smoke bomb pesticides causes them to scatter. (I know this because that is exactly what I have done, and it has made the problem much much worse than if they were ONLY living on my bed, or in my couch).
To be 100% certain of destroying any bugs, nymphs AND EGGS, you need to wash your stuff at 60 celsius, and then tumbledry it on high heat for 90 minutes.
Larger items such as mattresses are a bit more complicated but can be saved with proper decontamination, and I would urge you to at least contact a reputable professional to talk about the bugs you have because, take it from me... after a year of trying to win on my own against these things, I call tell you I am a nervous wreck and near enough broke down. I wish I had gone to an expert then rather than read up on the internet and try and figure it out for myself... I've managed to make it worse, and I've spent 6 months unable to sleep at home for my trouble.

NO!..... Bed bugs like warmth - you are only supplying that warmth. Blankets never get to the heat required to kill the bugs If they (blankets) did get that hot .... you would be cooked also!

I was reading that you need to put your bed sheets and stuff a whole day in the freezer to kill bed bugs. I think the same time will do it for your sweater. Bed bugs don't like extreme temperatures cold and hot.
Can extermination companies provide treatments to rid my house of bed bugs?
There are companies that offer hot steam treatments that are effective. You will have to move most everything out of your house though to be sure all the bugs are killed.
Will bleach kill bed bug eggs?
Sure Bleach will kill them, if applied to them or a small amount of bleach in an enclosed space will kill the ones in that space. However the thing is, bed bugs feed on people so normal eating pesticides won't work. Alcohol in an enclosed space will work on any bugs. Soak a cotton ball with alcohol and let it kill the bugs, then you have a perfect non-squashed specimen. To get rid of bed bugs you'll need to get a matress bag, to trap them in, dry everything you can get in the dryer on hot for at least 10 min. best to dry bedding everyday.

If the temperature is high enough it will kill all the bugs. But bedbugs do not live on the body and they never lay eggs on the skin. Bedbugs hide in the sleepingroom and come out at night to suck blood.

No. You can wash your stuffed animals in hot water, and they should be fine, as long as you have exterminated the bed bugs from the rest of the home.

No because it would be to hot for them to live in that heat Incorrect, bed bugs wont die until exposure for several minutes at approximately 115 degrees. This would also be uncomfortably hot to the touch. They are nocturnal though so the constant ultraviolet light from the sun lamps might make them think its day time.
