A:

The Book of Daniel is most similar to the Book of Esther. Both are second-century-BCE novels about the supposed experiences of Jews in Babylon and under the Persian Empire.

Daniel is the only apocalyptic book in the Old Testament canon, although certain others are sometimes referred to as 'proto-apocalyptic'.

Daniel is truly unique in the Old Testament because we now have a Dead Sea Scroll that demonstrates how an important passage evolved from an earlier tradition. This is the passage in which the Book of Daniel has King Nebuchadnezzar eating grass like an ox, and the scroll has a more primitive Propaganda that is midway between Daniel and the history shown in earlier Babylonian documents.
