Even though Jimmy Page owned Alister Crowley's mansion aka Boleskine House at one time, I'm pretty sure Led Zeppelin didn't really make a deal with devil. Crowley was an occultist, hedonist, used drugs was bisexual and a social critic (Born October 12, 1875 Died December 1, 1947). In other words pretty much like a Rock Star. That just adds to the mysticism. Then there is Zeppelin 4 aka Runes. To top it all off there is their sexual escapades and drug and alcohol abuse. They got so famous, so fast it had to be overwhelming. They could buy anything they wanted and had women throwing themselves at their feet. I was rather disappointed many years after the songs were coming out on the radio to find out that so much of their music was actually plagiarized. They added a new spin to it but nonetheless alot of their music was old blues, revamped. It kind of took the mysticism right out of it. They are now in their 60's, and are ageing just as badly as anyone else. That and the tragedies of Bonham's death, Plant's son's death and Plant being in a bad car accident leads me to believe that if they made that alleged "deal" with the devil, they received the worst end of it. Zeppelin is still one of the greatest bands ever and there is no denying their success decades after the band broke up.

Many people claim that if you play their songs backward (Stairway to Heaven, in particular) that you'll hear satanic messages, but there is no real evidence that they practiced any form of Satanism.
no, but hard 2 say w/jimmy page because he is very secretive.
but then again, that is just a rumor started cuz jimmy page was often associated with his freind/role model, the occultist Aliester Crowely
(hence the black sabbath song Mr. Crowely)
No if you listen to stairway to heven backwards you may hear somethings that sound like "Satan", but that's far from true.
This song is not satanic. It is about the final battle in the third book in The Lord of the Rings series.
Led Zeppelin is not Satanic, Jimmy Page had an interest in the occult, which led to the band being branded as Satanic, however, there was no Lucifer worshipping going down.
Some people might think that the "Battle of Evermore" by Led Zeppelin is satanic because of the use of the word "dark" throughout the song. It also talks about war and a dragon of darkness.
I think they had a lot of Pagan influences but weren't necessarily a Pagan band.
The so called "Satanic messages" and backmasks in Led Zeppelin songs are generally regarded as unintentional, although Jimmy Page did have interest in the occult, the band was never purposefully Satanic.

Led Zeppelin's first CD was Led Zeppelin, sometimes known as Led Zeppelin I. It was released in 1969.
Led Zeppelin is not overrated
well, I've heard that if you play the record of stairway to heaven, there's a part that says "Here's to you, my sweet Satan". That's probably the closest thing to anything satanic.
