The essential plot or story line is brought to a conclusion,. Fior example in a typical Dragnet plot- the crime is solved and adjudicated. Many films have unusual questions that are developed during the plot line- unless one uses the (Hioax) or (Nightmare) plot twist device, the ends are usuaully tied up and satisfied in the denoument- the end structure. Some pictures do not do this well. the circumstances surrounding the two-year time warp in ( The Lake House) were not satisfactorily explained at the end.

A plot is typically resolved by bringing together all the storylines and conflicts to a final climax or resolution. This is where the main conflict is addressed, loose ends are tied up, and the outcome of the story is revealed. This resolution usually offers closure for the characters and provides a satisfying conclusion for the audience.

The outcome of conflicts is the climax of the story. Every story has its own outcome for the particular conflicts in that story. The unique outcome of conflict depends on the characters in the story and how they react to it. This makes each story unique, even if the basic plotline might be similar to other stories.

Properly, one would hope. A good plot resolution wraps up all of the loose ends, explains everything, and leaves the reader with a satisfied feeling.

What does Resolution mean in the plot diagram?

Plot is a complex term that involves a conflict at its core. Something that disturbs the harmony of the characters or the universe or something. It is this conflict that is resolved. And as the conflict gets resolved so to does the plot. For example the protagonist is in danger of being stabbed to death by the antagonist. This is a conflict. This conflict plus all the action that takes place because of that conflict is the plot. When the protagonist convinces the antagonist that he truly loves her and everything that she heard about him to the contrary were lies and hyperbola and she drops the knife and falls lovingly into his arms - this is the resolution to the conflict and thereby the end of the plot as anything that happens after that is only gratuitous sensuality.
