Stay away from beaches not trying to be funny because I have this problem and when I pass by the beaches some how my craving for cornstarch increases, I run right home to put a spoonful in my mouth and then I'm satisfied. I hope I get over this because it is making my life complicated. I'm hid it from my friends and family until my little brother came over and saw I left some on the tip of my nose and he swore it was a drug substance so I had to confess and tell him I have been eating cornstarch for the past 3 months. HELP! When I'm not eating it it's constantly on My mind, like now I'm at work and I can't wait to get home to get some.

Amylophagia is the consumption of pure food starch and is considered a form of Pica. The etiology of this disease is unclear at this time.
