Strength training generally involves at most several workouts per week, or working daily but on different muscle groups.

The muscles have to have time to rebuild and heal from maximum efforts.

This is not true of aerobic exercise, what folks are calling "cardio" these days. You can indeed do aerobic work daily, with perhaps only one day of rest... Provided you are not working at your maximum output.

Most aerobic training is done in the range of 65-70% of the maximum heart-rate, with a small portion of the training time spent at higher levels.
