Jews are an ethnic group as well as a religion. Not all members of the ethnic group believe in God. There are even some Jewish atheists who regularly attend synagogue services.

What is the difference between jewish religious and orthodox?

"Jewish" applies to anyone born Jewish, whether or not they live according to their religion. "Jewish" also applies to valid converts. "Religious" sounds like "Orthodox," but it is less clearly defined. Some will claim that it extends further, to include Conservadox, or Conservative (etc). "Orthodox" means a Jew who lives according to the Torah.

How to convert from Orthodox Judaism to Reform Judaism?

Technically, there is no conversion required for the vast majority of Orthodox Jews who might want to be accepted into a Reform congregation. If an Orthodox Jew shows up in a Reform congregation and takes part in a service, they will be counted as fully Jewish without question. The great difficulties come when Reform Jews get interested in Orthodox Judaism, because Reform accepts as Jews people who are not considered as Jews by the Orthodox -- The Orthodox to not recognize the legitimacy of Reform conversions nor do they recognize as Jews those who claim Jewish status through patrilineal descent.(OK, there is one difficult class where Reform Jews might ask for conversion. The child of a Jewish mother and a non-Jewish father who grew up in a non-religious household would be welcome as a Jew in an Orthodox congregation but might face questions in a Reform congregation because, technically, the Reform acceptance of patrilineal descent is contingent on having a religious upbringing.)

What was the belief of the Orthodox Jews?

Orthodox Judaism is the branch of Judaism that has the strictest adherence to traditional Jewish practices and beliefs. It originated in response to the innovations in Jewish practice introduced by the Reform movement. Orthodox Judaism claims that both the Torah (the first five books of the Hebrew Bible) and the Oral Torah (the interpretive Talmud) are authoritative and fixed regarding Jewish doctrine and observance, thus requiring modern Orthodox Jews to uphold ancient Jewish law. God's divine revelation given to Moses on Mount Sinai was both supernatural and eternal, thus, Jews are strictly required to obey this revelation. This stance is a rejection of the positions held by both Conservative and Reform Judaism, which use more flexibility in interpreting Jewish law in the modern times. Orthodox Judaism's religious observances include daily worship, traditional prayers, study of the Torah, dietary laws, and gender segregation in the synagogue. The Hebrew language is essential in Orthodox religious practices. Orthodox Jews are also strict in their observance of the Sabbath. In spite of the doctrinal and ritual strictness of Orthodox Judaism, different Orthodox sects have arisen over the centuries. One distinction within the Orthodox is in regard to social engagement. Some sects of Orthodox Judaism claim the Jews, as the people of God, should live completely segregated from gentiles whereas other Orthodox sects believe Jews can keep the Torah and live in the secular world simultaneously. Most Orthodox Jews adhere to a traditional style of clothing with strict guidelines.

How did the government decide if you were Jewish?

It depends on the instance. The Nazis made the claim that anyone who had one Jewish grandparent was Jewish. The Israelis have slightly different criteria. The Spanish Inquisition made the claim that someone was a Jew if that person claimed to be a Jew or if they failed to be a "proper" Christian.

Is the Jewish God true?

To people of the Jewish faith, certainly. This is a question of faith and naturally those who have faith in God as described by Jewish teachings will claim Him to be True. Those who do not have faith in this God or have faith in a different god or gods will claim Him to be False. Only you can decide which is true.
