How is someone getting on your MySpace account and changing my profile when it is set to private?

There could be a couple of ways this has happened. Either a person knows your password or your account has been hacked into.
If you can still get into your account, go into it and change your password. Do not have the same password for your email account as you do for your Myspace account.
If you can not get into your account, contact Myspace. Myspace will eventually get back to you and ask you to prove it is your account. This is usually done by providing Myspace with a photo of you in front of the image you use as your profile image.
If you account has been hacked, this usually happens when you or someone's profile has an application they embedded into their profile section that has a malicious code in it to access your log in information
