In 100% of the cases harm is done to their bodies just by getting pregnant. The female body is not fully mature and ready to for pregnancy until age 24. Getting pregnant in the teens does significant harm to a still maturing reproductive system, as well as the immune system. The baby produces an immunal suppression chemical to prevent the body from ejecting the foreign growth taking place inside. At the time of birth, or a miscarriage, the baby has stopped producing this chemical. In a female body that has a still developing immune system, this can cause damage that can affect the rest of their lives, and substantially increasing the chances of developing cancer.
All Children Deserve Two Parents
Georgia Supreme Court Chief Justice Leah Ward Sears has noted, children born to unmarried women and to those in cohabiting relationships "must often overcome increased risks of poverty, education failure, child abuse, delinquency, emotional distress and mental illness."…….the lack of a father's guidance in children's lives is a major cause of their suffering. Single mothers and the baby boom
For some, the growth of single-mother families is a sign of female empowerment. If children without fathers fare worse than children in two-parent families, say defenders of single mothers, the answer is better pay for women and better social programs. Yet even in Sweden with its generous welfare state, a major 2003 study found that children raised in single-parent homes were at significantly higher risk for addictions and serious psychiatric problems.

In my opinion there are several different ways teen pregnancy's can impact society. There is the fact that young mothers are sometimes forced to drop out in order to prepare to take care of the baby. That goes without saying that there are still many teen moms who manage to complete their education. So in ways it can impact drop out rates, or scholarly levels of society if you will. Also lately with all the television series shining a light on teen girls and what their lives are like being a teen mom, it's almost as if the world is making it a fad. It's almost considered 'cool' to be pregnant at a young age in this generation.
