It's more energy from less mass. There's about 10 million times more energy from the amount of plutonium in the fission reaction of an A-bomb than there is in the chemical reaction from the same amount of dynamite by weight.

On the flip side, the fission reaction requires hundreds, or thousands of times more raw material(explosive "lenses" for implosion to critical mass, bomb casing ect.) A small bundle of dynamite requires only a blasting cap. Moreover, more of the dynamite is involved in the reaction. All that considered, a nuke weapon is still far more powerful in proportion to mass than a whole bunch of dynamite. "Shrimp" the 1st solid fuel hydrogen bomb ever detonated(& the most powerful explosion set of by the US), in a shot called Castle Bravo, detonated w/ a power of 15 megatons(30 billion#) of tnt, which is slightly less potent that dynamite. The whole device weighed about 23,000#, including the casing & everything required to make it go boom. So the entire device was almost 1.4 million times more powerful than the same mass of conventional explosive.

Was the atomic bomb the worlds biggest nuclear explosion?

No. Hydrogen Bombs have been detonated that make the atomic bomb look small in comparison. The Atomic Bombs dropped on Japan in WW2 were 25 Kton (equivilent to 25000 tons of dynamite), while H bombs can be as big as several hundred Megaton (million tons of dynamite)

How many sticks of dynamite did it take to make the atomic bomb?

I can't tell if you're trying to make a joke or not. There were no "sticks of dynamite" used in the atomic bomb.

What do you call the explosion called from an atomic bomb?

a nuclear explosion

Why did radiation occur after the atomic bomb hit Japan?

The atomic bombs are nuclear weapons that use a nuclear chain reaction to create a Hugh explosion. The by-product of the nuclear blast is radiation.Atomic explosion is created by setting off a lot of dynamite around a core of nuclear material. The blast compresses the material together and makes it unstable.A hydrogen bomb is a much more powerful bomb. It is the result of a small nuclear explosion that compresses more powerful radioactive material together and thus creating an explosion that is 100 times greater than an atomic bomb.

How does this compare to an atomic bomb explosion?

It is comparable to it.

How big was the explosion of the atomic bomb?

BIG

What elements does the atomic bomb use?

There are many different elements involved in the construction of an atomic bomb, but the elements that actually cause an atomic explosion are either uranium (specifically the U235 isotope) or plutonium.

Is Alfred Nobel the inventor of the Atomic Bomb?

No, he invented the dynamite.

Why Mr. Nobel invented the atomic bomb?

Nobel invented dynamite, not atomic bombs.

What does an atomic bomb use for explosion?

TNT(Trinitrotolune)

Why is a hydrogen bomb more devestating than an atomic bomb?

More powerful explosion.
