The Iraq War has greatly hurt the U.S. The brutal nature of the war, along with the 600,000-1,000,000 dead civilians, has nearly completely damaged the U.S' reputation around the world. It has turned many of our previously allies away from us. It has strengthened the cause of Al Quida and other terrorist organisations (U.N reports suggest there the amount of terrorist cells around the world have increased sevenfold from 2003 to 2007 as a result of the war), greatly increasing the threat for terrorist attacks at home.

It has strengthened the cause of 'rogue' nations (such as Iran). It has completely destroyed the nation of Iraq. The $3trillion cost of the war has bankrupted the U.S (a factor many prominent and leading economists have theorised as a crucial cause to the Global Financial Crisis). More importantly, it has led to the deaths of nearly 5,000 coalition troops.

( 1) The best way to answer this question is to look at the definition of war and economy; while at the same time imagine how they are related. *An economy is the realized social system of production, exchange, distribution, and consumption of goods and services of a country or other area *WAR is the state of prearranged conflict that creates an environment conducive to combined hostile efforts between two engaging parties in order to facilitate the transfer of power. so now that we have that information; how might these two things be connected, and how do they effect eachother? --People require many Needs; and have many Wants-- eg. man needs food and water; and surely it is advantages for him to have wood for fire to keep his family warm at the same time.-- In the above statement wood could be an example of both a natural resource as well as a Good The main way that these two things (war and economy) are related is by (the goods). Since man inhabits most of the earth ; AND since all goods are in fact Natural Resources or are derived from them then that means that goods ultimately come from territory. A territory (from the word 'terra', meaning 'land') is a defined area (including land and waters), considered to be a possession of a person, organization, institution, animal, state or country subdivision As a Population grows it consumes more goods In an economy the more of something there is the less it cost to person, and the less of something there is the more it cost. So this means that as the population grows in a territory that more of the natural resources will be consumed, there will become less than there was before, people can no longer afford it; thus man does not have wood to keep his family warm, or worse ,does not have food to feed his family. Man is willing to do drastic measures to prevent or reverse this occurance. And because the Earth is highly populated by man; He has only the choice to eighther watch his family become cold or starved or Compete with his fellow men for their goods. (intraspecific competition) So to answer your question How does a conflict that transfers POWER of natural resources stimulate the production, consumption, exchange, and distribution of goods; Well The more wood you have, the more you and your family can use. The more easily your family can grow. I would like to have children, and I would like my children to have children and so on... So can't we all just get along, "well not until we create an equilibrium with our entire biosphere" by controling ourselves (growth and consumption) as well as our products of consumption. So now I have a question for you. How long do you think it will take us to reach equilibrium?
