A divorce can indeed be annulled. You need to check the laws in your particular jurisdiction. There are several advantages including not having to be remarried, negating property settlements, and reinstating retirement and social security benefits

No time limit. You just got to comply with the applicable state law...in the United States of America. If the situation for anullment does not qualify because of a minor matter, the failure of facts, you dont get an anullment, but time is not the operative issue.

I am going to try to answer your question. Annulment may take a considerable length of time - sometimes years. I am not a Canon Lawyer nor am I a priest. Vatican decisions or pronouncements of any kind come down to the faithful through the hierarchy of the clergy. Perhaps you should talk to your parish priest about this matter. There may be some period of time involved and I freely admit that I don't know how long, but I do know that you will be free to remarry after you receive the Church's "okay" following the annulment. If a Catholic clergyman can offer further advice please add your comments for the further edification of us all.

If two Catholics were married in the Catholic Church, only the Catholic Church can annual the marriage. The duration of the marriage is irrelevant. This is not an easy step to take, and there is no certainty that it will be granted. If only one of the partners was Catholic, and the marriage was not preformed in the Catholic Church, then it is only necessary to have the diocesan office confirm that there was no marriage that needs annulment.

There is no time "limit" circumstances alone dictate whether an annulment is possible. An annulment simply says that the marriage wasn't a valid "sacrament" due to some circumstance. If there are children they are not Illegitimate since the marriage was legal (State).

No, in the United States a divorce cannot be ‘annulled’. Once the divorce is final the parties can arrange to get married again.

In some jurisdictions there is a short period immediately following the divorce decree, called the NISI period, whereby the parties can decide to get back together and extinguish the divorce- the parties would resume the marriage.

This waiting period serves the purpose of allowing parties to change their mind before the divorce becomes final. If the Judgment of Divorce Nisi has issued but not become final yet, and you and your spouse decide you don't want to get divorced, then you can file a Motion to Dismiss and the Judgment will be undone.

You need to check the laws in your particular jurisdiction and get legal advice from an attorney who specializes in family law. In any case, this situation must be addressed promptly following the divorce.

I think you mean an anullment. That is when two persons get "unmarried". It has the effect of declaring that the marriage never happened. Similar to divorce, but different legally.

You were married twice in a Catholic church with no annulment is it a valid marriage?

If your first spouse is still living and there was no anullment, then it is very surprising that a Catholic priest agreed to officiate at your second wedding. Only an expert can say for certain, but it is unlikely that your second marriage is valid in the eyes of the Church.

Do you have to go along with an annulment if one of you disagree?

An anullment may or may not be granted by the Catholic Church tribunal. Unlike a civil divorce, not everyone who applies for one receives one. The tribunal may find that the marriage is valid and the couple are united in wedlock for the remainder of their lives. The tribunal may decide that the marriage was not valid from the start. Whichever way it decides, each party will be notified of the tribunal's decision.
