How long after you quit taking Lamictal will your sores go completely away?

I really couldn't give you an exact answer to this question but i have been taking Trileptal which is a seizure medicine like Lamictal to. I Was just recently switched to Lamictal because after seven months of taking the medicine it was still making me sleepy. Well my psychiatrist warned me about the breakouts but he said very few people got them at all! So i wasnt expecting it. He started me out on one 25 milligram pill a day....I made it up to my 2nd week of taking the med and started to break out on my arms,belly,back,neck,then face. I didnt do anything but take benadryl . It WILL work just take 2 or 3 doses, and it should clear up in a day or two.... I still have some of mine...but i wouldn't continue taking Lamictal if i was you.... Good Luck!!!!

Though most patients handle Lamictal well, hives is one of the potential side-effects of Lamictal, and you should call your doctor immediately if you experience hives. You should not discontinue taking the medication without letting your doctors know. There can be other serious side-effects of quitting the medication cold-turkey. Although hives are associated with a reaction to Lamictal, there is always a possibility that they may have been caused by something else.

I have read reports of a similar reaction in others. Also, it seemed to make my concentration worse (I was diagnosed as bipolar d/o, yet I don't have the manic phases.. I'm almost certain it's actually ADHD).

No. I have canker sores and have never kowingly given some one canker sores. Canker sores are not caused by the same thing that causes cold sores and as far as I know they are not contagious. But to be on the safe side avoid kissing this person until their canker sores go away.
