Today, children on a kibbutz are raised by their parents and live with them full-time. When kibbutzim were first established, children lived in a special children's home for their entire childhoods. A number of memoirs have been written about this experience. Many of the socialist principles of the kibbutz collapsed as capitalism took over in Israel and around the world. One of the first things to go in the process of privatizing the kibbutzim was the children's home.
Some parents were raised that way and want to share the experience with their children, but they often send their children away because they need a "vacation" from parenthood.
Parenting today is NOT all that different. Usually, parents would scream, spank, and take away things their children like.
They should take it away when there in preschool

A lot of the time there is a lack of evidence of abuse, so children end of staying with abusive parents, sometimes with devastating results. Also, false claims of sexual, emotional, and physical abuse can cause children to be taken away from great parents.
Yes. That would be a parent's prerogative.
