If you are talking about his elementary, middle school and high school education, he graduated from the Punahou School in Honolulu in 1979, having completed the customary 12 grades (he studied for four years in elementary schools in Indonesia, but had attended kindergarten in Hawaii, and then returned to Hawaii to attend grades 5-12). President Obama then studied for two years at Occidental College in Los Angeles; he next transferred to Columbia in New York, where he graduated with his Bachelor's degree two years later (in 1983). He then worked for a while, and returned to school: in 1989, he entered Harvard Law School, and graduated with academic honors in 1991. So, the total years in the college class room was four as an undergraduate, and two more to get his law degree.
