In WWII the German Wehrmacht began the fight against The Netherlands on 10.05.1940, the Dutch Army signed the Dutch capitulation 4 days later, on 14.05.1940. After this the Wehrmacht began its march across Belgium by breaking through the Dyle position on 16.05.1940 to sack Brussels one day later and to receive the Belgian capitulation on 28.05.1940 - after 12 days.

After another 25 days, on 22.06.1940 finally France capitulated. The entire German operation on the Western front (10.05.-22.06.1940) had taken 43 days.
