If I understand the question, the answer is no. Spain acquired the islands in the 16th century and held them as an imperial possession until the Spanish-American War in 1898. The only fighting in the Philippines which I am aware of was the Battle of Manila Bay. It was fought entirely between the US and Spanish navies. After acquiring the Philippines, the US then fought a three-year war against Filipino insurrectionists. Later, the Philippines and US fought together against Japan in World War 2, and the Philippines gained its independence from the US after that war ended. Cuba did help in the Spanish-American War because Cubans were already engaged in a fight for independence from Spain.
After the Philippine-American War, the US governed the Philippines as a US possession. As it had promised to do before the war, after World War 2 the US granted independence to the Philippines.
