It all depends on your State, county, and city. There are some places in California where you need a minimal of 250 hours, but to be on the safe side, nationally you need 500 hours of training so that you can avoid any difficulties getting a job because of hours completed. I did 500 hours of Massage Therapy in a total of 5 and a half months.

The educational path of a potential sex therapist should cover sexual and non-sexual therapy techniques, as relationship problems and past traumas can be the main glitch in the client's sex life.
It is a good idea for sex therapists to register themselves with an association. Registration ensures clients that the therapist is a legitimate, trained counselor. Certification by these associations requires that therapists have rigorous, recognized training, so it may be a good idea to contact an association to plan your specific educational path.

While earning the basic therapy education, they specialize in sex therapy and obtain a license.
After earning a bachelor's degree, a sex therapist will be in school 2-6 more years before they can practice.

A masseuse or masseur, are terms that have been used in the past to define, female and male respectively, manual laborers that had no education and only apprenticeship training to do massage. Since most legitimate massage therapists have gone to school and received a license to practice their craft, they prefer to be called massage therapists, regardless if they are male or female.
