when you see the hamster or guinea start to have hair on there body or start to see or maybe younger(i touched it when it started to have hair and i put it in a place the mother will never look)
you cannot touch the babies until 2 weeks after birth. also at 2 weeks you will have to separate the babies from the mother. or the mother will reject them and eat them.
if one of the babies fall out of the cage get clean clothe wrap it around your hand completely and pick the baby up and put it back into the nest.
The best time to touch a baby hamster is day 14(2 weeks). I have 8 baby hamsters and i have to resist the erge to touch them. Good luck! They are so cute! -WM Utah

Yes. Hamsters are just like guinea pigs. Their "potty" still has nutrients that can be helpful to their body. Hamsters' food also may not have enough nutrients, and that is why they may be eating their "potty."
both guinea pigs and hamsters can be very active although hamsters only at night, guinea pigs tend to be more playful and enjoy the company of people more.
they are guinea pigs
guinea pigs have an incredibly fast metabolism and will die without eating within 72 hours. please don't starve your pigs.
