It of course depends on the needed features, state of phones, and overall reliability of the system, but businesses often replace their phone systems every 10 years or so. With the right maintenance you can create a replacement cycle so that you never have to replace your entire system all at once unless you're in need of new features such as video calling or are making the switch from an analog system to VoIP (which is much cheaper monthly).

How long will the average person wait on hold before they hang up the phone?

Most people will stay on as long as it takes, if they know that someone will pick up. This is why you often have a phone answering system that tells you "There are __ people ahead of you" or "Your approximate wait time is __ minutes." Good muzak also helps - if there is nothing to listen to, people will usually hang up after a minute or two.

What is the average markup on business phone systems?

A small business phone system will provide the core set of features you need but you also want to ensure compatibility with other equipment you already have. You definitely want features such as voicemail, messaging on-hold, headsets and conferencing equipment. When determining additional features, you should examine how your phone system will be used. Try and limit your feature search and evaluation to only those options that will improve the work flow in the office. Estimating costs for a complete new telephone system are very difficult. More reliable, expandable systems do tend to cost more per user up front - but the savings you will see in the long run make it worthwhile. Key systems and hybrids can range from $350 to $1000 per user. For larger PBX systems prices start at around $800 per user, but can go up $1000 per user range. KSU-less systems generally cost between $130 and $225 per office telephone.

What is a business letter or business correspondents?

The content of a business letter delivers the message, but it is just as important to be familiar with the physical appearance of a letter. The way a letter looks influences how the recipient will perceive the company. As the saying goes, first impressions count - and might we add - last a long time! There are about 10-12 components of a letter as seen below (link resources) http://thebusinessletters.blogspot.com/2014/07/standard-components-of-business-letter.html
