There is no simple answer, like "6 weeks"; talk to your counselor, pastor, spouse, friends and look at it one of two ways (depending on your beliefs)... that they are either in a better place, or they feel no pain.

personally, i think it would take you a long time to get over it. just make sure you don't bottle it up inside and that to have a good long cry with a friend by your side.
