It depends. If the film is quite popular, such as the new film Hunger Games, then it'll be there a while. Most movies that are popular stay a few weeks or even a month or two. Alternatively, the lesser known independent films, or ones with bad reviews only stay for about 2 to 3 weeks. Some films only stay in the theater as "special" one-week only showings to get you hyped up & bring more revenue. Overall, it varies.
It depends how many tickets are sold, If many are sold, it'll stay in the cinema longer. If the tickets don't sell, it'll go out of the cinema :)
