if your eclipse is the gts( turboed model) then have the work is already done for you. in a after market turbo kit it should come with everything that your turbo kit already has just newer and better performance, but if the turbo kit is for your car its cake, replace the turbo with the new one, change out the oil feed, and oil return lines, remove all the rubber piping and replace with the new turbo pipeing. might have to remove your front bumper to install the new intercooler
You need to purchase the appropriate turbo kit for your vehicle and follow the install instructions or have a mechanic install it for you.
Pay some one who is qualified to install turbo, If you must as you are not the qualified one. get it right the first time, then you wont feel as badthat you spent that kind of cash.
To spend that money on a turbo kit on a high mileage engine wouldn't be cost effective/recommended. You should rebuild it and install turbo pistons, forged rods and then you could take advantage of the turbo.
Purchase an aftermarket cooler and follow the instructions included with the kit.
Best to order a complete kit. Will make it easier and most likely include all the extra parts. Do a search for vw turbo kits on the net.
Yes of course. Look up the forums on how to install a turbo kit on a Nissan N13 Pulsar, which uses the same basic GM engine.
its pretty easy done about 12 of them. 325 hp was the most we got safe tuned.Dealers stop making the turbo for them.but you can still find them. Speedworld in baldwin N.Y.
The same way you'd turbocharge any other vehicle - you can cobble together parts and do a backyard turbo kit, or you can spend approximately $3k for a turbo kit by Hahn Racecraft or Star. The HRC kit is customizable, so options exist for different turbos (standard was a 16G) and intercooling, and will take approximately 10 hours to install. Star made (makes?) a kit which utilized a bigger turbo at the cost of more lag - unfortunately the kit was not well documented and customer support was sporadic at best. The price of used vehicles makes purchasing a GS-T/GSX/TSi/TSi-AWD a viable alternative, although insurance costs will be higher.
I would install a turbo, due to the availability different turbo kits, I think only Jackson racing is the only company advertising a supercharger for the prelude. Turbo kit has room to grow, easier to modify, better fuel economy, etc.
You can not get a turbo kit but there is a nuespeed Supercharger kit for the 2.0 it gives you 50% more horsepower and 55% more torque.
