16 to 22 lb Un Stuffed Turkey 3 ½ - 4 hrs
16 to 22 lb Stuffed Turkey 4 - 4 ½ hrs
Turkey is fully cooked and safe to eat when the meat thermometer reads 77°C or 170°F for an un-stuffed turkey and 82°C or 180°F for a stuffed turkey.
If it's been stuffed - treat it like a joint of meat. Cook it for 20 minutes per pound plus another 20. Therefore, in this case - 6 hours & 40 minutes ! If you cook the bird upside-down, then turn it right way up while it's resting after cooking - all the juices will be absorbed back into the flesh - so it won't be dry !
3.5 to 4 hours
One bag of stuffing mix will sufficiently fill a 16 lb turkey.
This would depend on what kind of stuffing you are making, whether or not it is the instant stuffing (IE: Stovetop) or homemade. It also depends on whether or not you plan on making it separately, or stuffing the turkey with it. If you are using an instant stuffing, it is wise to make it last, as it only takes approximately 5 minutes to prepare. If you are making homemade stuffing, it is wise to prepare your bread crumbs in advance, so they have time to harden. If you are stuffing a turkey, prepare the stuffing mix prior to stuffing the turkey, then place it in the turkey's cavity. Please be advised that special precautions should be taken when doing this, as a turkey that has been stuffed, when improperly or incompletely cooked, can give additional rise to food borne illnesses.
Most cooking authorities are hesitant to stuff a turkey. It can be hard to get the stuffing to a high enough temperature to kill off any bacteria that may have gotten into it. It is believed that many cases of food poisoning are caused by undercooked stuffing.
The turkey is first put in the oven at 12:00 p.m. The turkey need to cook for 4 hours and 4 minutes it is 1:30 p.m. How much longer does the turkey need to cook?

About 3 hours if you don't stuff the bird. If you want stuffing cooked in the bird add 30 minutes to an hour to this time and make sure you have a meat thermometer handy. And move your temperature to 175c.
It is recommended when cooking turkey to cook at a high heat for 1 hour and then 350 for the rest of the time, about a half hour for every pound of a thawed turkey.
The time to warm up prepared stuffing will vary depending on how much stuffing is being warmed. For a few servings of stuffing, can be warmed in the microwave in about a minute.
well i 17 pound turkey will cook for 8 hours if it helps
I cook my turkey's unstuffed, in a tray and covered with tinfoil. Cooking to the length of time recommended for the turkey's weight, and the gas or electric setting advised, I uncover the turkey for the last 15 to 20 minutes to crisp up the skin. I cook my sage and onion (home-made) stuffing separately, covered with tin foil, on a lower oven shelf. I don't believe that a turkey will be cooked through thoroughly if the inside has been stuffed.
get a friend to cook a pie or 2 and cook the turkey or start early and youll get it done or just buy one already made and say umade it
