Actual spoilage will depend upon a number of variables, including the quality of the meat before grinding, the cleanliness of the grinder and storage temperatures. Ground beef is generally considered to have a refrigerated shelf life of only a couple days. See Related Links.

Depending on where it is and how it is kept. If it is in a store package and in the refrigerato about 4 to 5 days. If it is frozen and in an air tight container about 2 years. If it is left at room temperature, it becomes invaded with bacteria after an hour and will spoil within 8 to 12 hours.

If it is no longer *very* cold to the touch, it's probably lethal. Raw ground beef should never, ever be thawed at room temperature. Thaw it overnight in the refrigerator. To help speed things up, remove any styrofoam packaging and transfer meat to a ziplock bag or another air tight container.

If left out of the refrigerator bacteria can form in one hour to make it unsafe to eat. To actually spoil, It would dry out first. If left in the refrigerator 3 to 5 days.
