Typically an astronaut must have at least a four-year college degree, and most have at least 2 years of school beyond that. Then they must undergo an intensive training program that typically takes a minimum of one to two years.
There is no fixed requirement. Astronauts are chosen for their ability to function in space, and then for their qualifications in their chosen field. Most astronauts acting as mission specialists have advanced degrees in various sciences. This is much different from the earliest astronauts, who (while very capable technically) were mostly military officers or test pilots who had experience flying high-performance jet aircraft. Most of the current piloting positions require significant computer and engineering training.
1. It takes 8 years to train to be a astronaut for ruffle 1 -- 3 missions. There are a series of different training exercise to do before going into space. E.g. the trainees would live in the rocket for 1 whole year to get familiar to the layout and differences to living normally.
There are very few actual jobs in astronomy, other than at universities and colleges.
However, if you're interested, I recommend taking lots of math in high school, and then enrolling in the Physics department at the university or college of your choice. Take lots of classes in engineering and computers. With a bachelors degree in Physics with a strong minor in computers, you'll be in an excellent position to decide if you want to go ahead with a masters or doctorate in Astronomy, or if you'd rather go into an engineering or technical position.
Either way, a degree in a hard science will enable you to write your own ticket in the future.
Just any engineering degree(related to sciences)!
it takes 8 years to go to space for only one mission.
The Selection process takes about a year, then training lasts for about 2 years, then mission specific begins.
See link for some interesting information. Requirements differ depending on your classification: Pilot, Mission Specialist or Payload Specialist.
A degree in Astronomy would probably be ideal. It would be a good idea to look into taking some Physics classes, as well.

Philip Kenyon Chapman While Chapman is the first Australian to train as an astronaut, he did not fly in space. That honour goes to Paul Scully Power, who flew on the STS-41 mission in 1984.
When an astronaut goes to space, the lack of gravity in the capsule or the space station will make his bones and joints very weak. A period of 2-hour exercise is required every day so that his bones will not shatter when he returns to Earth. Technically the astronauts' bones will not get thinner, but instead weaker. Problems like osteoporosis can be caused if the astronaut stays in space for extended periods of time.
The fastest French train, Train à Grande Vitesse, goes as fast as 574.8 km/h (357.2 mph).

their is no air on mars so if they do not have on a space suit they will die.
A person who goes into space is called an astronaut by the US and a Cosmonaut by the Russians.
astronaut needs to know maths as it goes in space there are are places were they measure distanse ,angle ect..

The dictionary definition is astronaut! Here is the meaning of the word. An astronaut is a person who goes into space. Astronauts travel in spaceships. Some astronauts have walked on the moon.
