Can you reactivate a tracfone?
You sure can. If it is out of minutes or its service date has passed, just put in a new pre-paid card code into the phone to redeem minutes and service days. You can also re-activate a phone online via tracfone account. Basically, you can reactivate the phone if you buy more service days/minutes.

The units/minutes are not stored on the SIM Card they are stored in the phone itself. The TracFone / NET10 SIM Card can not be used in any other GSM technology phone. TracFone and NET10 both have an elaborate database of all the phones they have ever sold in it. You can not activate a phone unless the Serial Number is in their database. Yes, you can get double minutes for life on each of the cards that you buy. They will automatically be doubled, but when the minutes run out you need another card.
