GRILLED CORN ON THE COB Corn on cob with husks on

Butter (stick works best)

Aluminum foil Pull back small amount of husk. Put small amount of butter on corn. Put husks back over again. Wrap in foil. Put on hot grill turning once in a while. Leave on grill 15-30 minutes. Corn won't burn too fast. Be careful very hot when husking corn.

Its fairly quick, just a few minutes per side. You want to make sure and butter it well, and then you just want to get a little browning and carmelization on some of the corn kernels. Its not like you want the blacken the whole cob, that would be awful. A little more butter, some salt, perhaps some fresh herbs, and grilled corn is wonderful!

Another option is to leave the last couple layers of husk on the corn when you shuck it. Then soak the corn in water for about 30 minutes. Peel back the remaining husk (without removing it), brush with olive oil, and then pull the husk back over the corn. Then grill it over direct heat for a couple minutes on each side, move to direct heat, and cook for 15 minutes. The husk will protect the corn from charring, and by soaking it in water, you let the corn steam and get nice and soft. You still get the grill flavor, but without drying out the corn.

Another AnswerBoiling corn typically takes between 2 and 4 minutes. Grilling corn should take a little longer.

Pull the husks back and remove the silk. Soak the corn in salt water for a few minutes and re-wrap the ear in the husk then grill the corn until the kernels are tender.

I usually trim the husks, then soak it in cold water for 30 min. to an hour. Grill on top rack for at least 30 minutes, or longer! The longer the better I found out!

I personally do not enjoy blackened corn. So I grill my corn on high for about 12 min. while turning them often to ensure that they are not burned but cooked until tender.

How long do you soak corn on cob before grilling?

You don't have to soak corn on the cob at all to grill it. Simply rinse the corn thoroughly in cold running water, lay it on a piece of tin foil large enough to wrap the ear of corn in, add a teaspoon of butter, a little salt and pepper, and seal it in the foil. It doesn't take long for fresh corn to cook on the grill; probably no longer than 10 minutes. If you over-cook, the corn may be tough.

How long does it take to cook corn on the cob ln tin foil on the grill?

If you grill it over indirect heat (off to the side of the coals or burner) it takes about 20 minutes. Over direct heat it can be done in about 5 minutes, but there is a risk of burning it.

How long do you roast corn?

depends on how hot the grill is and if you grill the corn on the cob then leave it in it's husk, this will allow the water vapor to stay inside, and they will have to be almost constantly turned like every 2 minutes(this is not an exact science if you think it should be turned sooner by all mans do so before that corn starts to pop). If they start making popcorn then you've grilled it for too long. Jokes aside it can take 15-30 minutes pending the amount of corn, you will have to check one of the cobs if it is finished after about 15 minutes if some of the kernels have gotten a little singed it's okay, they are a little caramelized, but still tasty. Good Luck

Cooking corn on the cob on the grill?

Grilled corn on the Cobb is the best in our home. Tear off the shuck, and all of the silk you can. Fill your sink with cool water, and let the corn rest in it for 5-10 min, or while your getting the grill ready. Then just lay each ear on the grill and let the grill do it's magic! The heat from the grill will start to caramelize the sugar in the corn. Turn the corn after a few minutes, when it starts browning. It's done when all sides are a light golden brown. Also, you can leave the husks on to grill. Peel back the husks, not ripping them off, & remove the silk. Pull the husks back up, then leave in the sink filled with water. Let them rest for about half an hour. When grilling, the husks will burn a bit (which is why you want to soak in water first). Turn as each side turns blackish brown. A great topping for this is some softened butter mixed with a dash of cayenne pepper. Smear over the corn, then put a squirt of lime juice onto thre corn. Divine!
