An experienced worker may be able to change it in as fast as 20 minutes. If you don't know how I would recommend taking it to a professional.
replace it with a Toyota starter, not an aftermarket one. aftermarket starters don't last too long because they are only cleaned and sprayed for a nice look. Check the link on the right.
35mins
About 1 hour at the most.
32.8 sec.
If all goes well, 1-1/2 to 2 hours.
You are probabily thinking of the starter solinoid..? To change that you got to take off the starter and it'll be a round cylinder about 3 to 4 inches long. If your having transmission problems hit me up
Shouldn't be anymore than hour unless you run into a problem.
The starter's actually near the front of the car but the only way to access it is from under the car itself. It's right next to the oil filter so as long as you can find that the starter isn't too difficult to find at all.
do u remove the 2 long bolts running down the side of the starter or the 2 larger bolts on the end near the transmission?
I just did this job The hardest part is getting the top bolt out to remove the starter. The only way I could do it was to remove the windshield wiper motor. Removal of the motor is hard but not impossible. That gave me enough room to get a long box-end wrench on the head of the bolt and turn it out. The rest of the job is pretty straitforward
That all depends on if you abuse the starter by cranking too long. I have 170,000 on original starter.
it is a long and detailed process, look it up on youtube.
