In all actuality, tablet vitamins can take up to 4-6 hrs to breakdown in your body and only absorb at about 40% of what you put in. Tablet vitamins are full of binders and fillers and lubricants, all stuff your body does not need and most of which it can't break down and gets evacuated later. Capsule vitamins can take about 45-90 mins to break down and get absorbed about 50% and still have binders and fillers in them (including sawdust in some products). So in effect your spending a dollar and your body is only using up to 50% of the product.

The other type of vitamin out there is Liquid, they absorb alot better usually up to 80% or more.

There is a new type out there, actually been out for a quite a while called ISOTONIX, they are isotonic in nature, which means same pressure as blood, sweat and tears. This means they are passed right thru the stomach, they do not have to break down at all and they are readily absorbed w/in about 10 mins into the system from the small intestines. So you spend a $1.00 on the product and your body actually absorbs about .95 cents worth. You may pay more for a higher quality vitamin like this, but you get alot more out of it. Also keep in mind the body needs certain levels of vitamins daily too. For example, it needs 5000 IU of Vit D per day min. So when you buy a supplement that says 1000 IU and your body only absorbs 50% at best... That means you need to take 10 pills per day to get what you need. If you buy Isotonix Vit D and you take a capful, mixed with 2 oz of water, that is 5000 IU/day and your body absorbs 95% of it.

There is alot of products out there to waste your money on, be careful of what you buy!

What is the non-food source of vitamin d?

There are two non-food sources of Vitamin D. (1) Vitamin D is created by your skin when it is exposed to ultraviolet UVB radiation present in sunlight. (2) According to the US National Institutes of Health, two forms of Vitamin D are commercially manufactured for use as dietary supplements. These are Vitamin D2 (ergocalciferol) and Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol). These are included in vitamin supplements in liquid or pill form, and are added to certain foods (vitamin enriched foods). Vitamin D compounds are fat-soluble, which means they accumulate in the body's fatty tissues and remain there for a relatively long time; this also means that you need to be careful not to get too much Vitamin D, since the body has no quick way to get rid of it and it can easily build up to toxic levels if you take too many supplements. The American Academy of Dermatology advises that you should get your Vitamin D from foods or supplements rather than from UVB exposure, since UVB is known to be a primary cause of skin cancers.

Finding the Right Vitamin Nutritional Supplements?

Vitamin nutritional supplements are one of the most important additions to anyone's weight loss or health goals. These supplements can go a long way toward providing you with the vitamins that you simply don't have the time to get the right amounts of. However, there are some things that you should look out for whenever you're looking to purchase vitamin nutritional supplements. Primarily, look out for supplements that say they give you "1000%" of your daily recommended intake of certain vitamins. The body can only metabolize so much at once, and this is always nothing more than a marketing gimmick.

Which of the vitamin will not be synthesized in a person confined to a dark cell for a long time?

Vitamin D is not synthesized in the body when a person is confined to a dark cell for a long time. However, it can be obtained through diet or supplements. Vitamin D is primarily synthesized in the skin in response to sunlight exposure, so lack of sunlight would hinder its natural production in the body.
