Tough Question since Idaho has a long north - south axis and Pennsylvania has an east - west axis:

  • From Bonners Ferry to Philadelphia is a 2,593 mile drive requiring about 39.5 hours according to MapQuest.
  • From Capital to Capital or Boise to Harrisburg is only 2,336 miles and an estimated 34.75 hours of driving.
  • From Montpelier to Pittsburgh is a mere 1,820 miles requiring an estimated driving time of 27 hours.
  • Starting Points and destinations can make a big difference. In the above example it can be 12.5 or more of hard driving.

I'd say about three days. It depends on how often you stop, or whether you try to drive straight through, trading driving and sleeping.
