May be more than one route. The obvious is via London but are there any services via, e.g. Poole / Bournemouth or Bristol that may be quicker or more convenient?

You should be able to work it out from the National Rail Enquiries & similar web-sites, as with (your?) other question about Weymouth - London fare, but even finding Upwey to Wool details proved an exercise in Advanced IT!

If you don't mind long bus journeys & the times are right for you I believe there is a National Express Weymouth - Blackpool service that if it doesn't go via Liverpool may drop you at a convenient bus-station in the area.
