It takes 43 seconds
it took from 1961-1962 to build the Seattle space needle (1year)!!
The space needle cost 111.7 billion dollars to build (or maybe $21 million original construction? (See Wikipedia). You will probably need to pay to ride the elevator to the top. This web site looks like the place for the cost of a ticket, but I don't see it. [http://www.spaceneedle.com/] It seems like I payed around $15 a long time ago.

A space elevator is a concept for a "lift" of sorts to raise things out of the gravity well of the earth. It's basically a long, strong "cable" that is tied to earth and to a counterweight out in space. Materials are loaded into "cars" on the cable, and the units "crawl" up the cable to break free of earth's gravity. A link can be found below.
A system of pulleys along a long carbon nanotube structure that reachs into space. There is a common misconception that there is not gravity in space, however this is not the case. Classified as microgravity it is still possible for basically anything that functions normally on earth to function normally in the microgravity of space.
The Amniocentesis needle is usually around 7.4cm long and 0.8mm wide
1/2 inch long
The average elevator ride to the top of a building can vary widely depending on the height of the building, the speed of the elevator, and any stops it makes along the way. In general, it can take anywhere from 30 seconds to several minutes.

You want to set your machine up as a long stroke for shading. Soft spring action, and about a 2 nickel space on the top coil. You want a soft spring and long stroke so that the needle physically takes longer to hit the skin. Keep your voltage down low.
it will probably take at least 5 minutes for a needle to rust unless it is copper.
