How long does it take to receive mail from Texas to Illinois?

At leat within the 48 contiguous states First Class Mail is delivered in three to five days. Then I wonder why I haven't received a letter that was mailed from Texas to Wisconsin that was sent on the 7th of May. Beginning to wonder if someone is not telling the truth about when the letter went out.
