If you're not a mechanic and don't have a lift, it's probably going to take a good 6-8 hours. The starter on these cars is underneath the engine by the left front tire, and there's very little room to maneuver, especially on the top bolt and on the very small hot wire bolt. The one trick that I had to learn by myself, is that you have to unhing the steering column to actually get it out of the car. It's also helpful if you do this as one of the first things, so your ratchet can have more room to operate. To unhook the steering, you simply unhook the small bold in the middle of the column. Then, it might take a little force, but you just pull the two ends apart. There are built-in springs on either end, and you can kind of rock the steering arm back and forth to help unhook it. Just be sure to reconnect it correctly. There's a small metal pin that goes into a slit on each end of the steering. arm. Good luck. I did it by trial and error and it took me all day. If you have small hands it's probably much easier, but at 6-4, my hands can hardly move in the confines of the engine.
Where is the starter on a 1997 Honda Civic?
It's when you trim down the long runners inside the "keg" style intake manifold found on the '92-'03 Dodge 5.2/5.9 Magnum engines.
about 6 hours
About 7-8 hours.
Labor time is about 5 hours.
I assume you submerged the starter. Remove the starter and place it in an over set at 150 degrees. Leave it for 12 hours. I should be throughly dry by then. If after this it does not function, replace it.
Yes it will as long as it's a FE C6. Also, if you do install it make sure of the starter you have. If you have the long neck style starter you will need to replace the flywheel and starter to have it fit. You can use the one from a 66 and up 390 motor.
I have a 08 Chevy Cobalt. It took me about an hour and a half to replace the crank position sensor. Disconnect your battery and unbolt your starter; you can leave the starter wired up just move it out of your way. The sensor sits behind the starter. Be careful when disconnecting the plug for the sensor so you don't break it. You can disconnect is from up top so you can see what you're doing. Replace sensor, replace starter, reconnect your battery, and your back on road.
