There is no real answer to this question. They can last the life of the engine or may possible give trouble at above 100,000 miles. Normally they last until the engine needs an overhaul. The chain will warn you when it is getting ready to fail. It will become noisy and the engine will be hard to keep in time.
Chain
It has a Timing Chain.
chain
The 4.3 liter V6 engine in a 1997 Chevy Blazer has a timing CHAIN
The 1.6 liter four cylinder has a timing BELT and the 2.0 liter four cylinder has a timing CHAIN
The 3.0 liter V6 engine in a 2010 Chevy Equinox has a timing CHAIN
It has a timing chain.
how much play should a 4.3 Chevy engine timing chain have?
The 3.0 liter V6 engine in a 2010 Chevy Equinox has a timing CHAIN
It has a t-chain.
Every typical "V" style engine has a timing chain. the Chevy cavalier z24 has a 3.1 liter FI V6 engine. so yes it has a timing chain.
It don't have a timing chain and if it did it would out last the engine. It should have a timing belt and it should be replaced about 60 thousand miles. Sorry I must disagree with my friend who is very knowledgable. The 3.5 Liter and 3.9 Liter Chevy V6 has a timing chain and not a belt. The chain will last the life of the engine.
