Swanson Health Products was founded in 1969. The company began because it's founder, Leland Swanson, was having a hard time playing Golf, due to Arthritis. He started taking vitamins and supplements and did lots of research on the subject. In 1968 he decided to order them in bulk and take out an advertisement in a weekly magazine in order to sell them. That's how the company started.
