There are 3 types of cucumbers sold in the United States, the most common is a standard cucumber and it lasts about 9 days in the refrigerator. If it starts to feel soft then it is going bad. There are also pickling cucumbers that are smaller and thicker skinned and they last about 2 weeks. The third type is called "English", burpless or seedless cucumber and they have a thin peel that is eatable and very small flat seeds - this variety lasts about 8 days in the fridge.
