IF you have a trouble code or a "Check Engine" Light, it can take a several minutes or so. Best to do some highway driving. OR, just take the battery terminals off to clear the computers memory. I had the engine light come on in my patrol due to overheating and I had to take the vehicle to the dealer's service centre where they plugged it into the computer which advised why the light came on and then reset it. There was a minimal service fee for this. I assume it will be the same process for the Mazda.
