Five foot wide?

A six foot six axle measured hub face to hub face is about right.

BUT

What you need are 4 foot 10 inch ish spring pads.

I allways call my axle supplier and ask them what they can build me. A new axle for my 4 foot wide quad/Golf cart/toy trailer cost about $180.
