One should go in for a computer hardware course for pursuing a career in computer diagnostics. After the training, one should go for certifications like MCSE.
You may have a faulty engine light. Or, you may have a serious problem with your car. You should take your car to a local mechanic for diagnostics.
That depends on how well the engine has been maintained.
Check engine light can literally point to hundreds of things. The only right way to find out is to take it to someone with electronic diagnostics.
The engine in your Town Car should last hundreds of thousands of miles. As long as you keep up on your regular maintenance and periodically (once a year?) check to make sure the engine is running properly (take it to a mechanic who has a very expensive looking diagnostics computer in his garage) you shouldn't have any trouble over the life of the rest of the car. Fords 4.6L has been known to last over 400K miles when taken care of. Your real question should be "how long with the transmission last?" To that I don't know the answer (yet).
As lond as its not an ignition detonation problem you probably have a spun rod bearing in the bottom end. Time for a used engine in this case. Take it to a mechanic and they should be able to listen to it and let you know without expensive diagnostics.
for as long as you take care of it.
The easiest way to find out is to take it to a shop and have them run diagnostics on your vehicle. If you have an OBD scanner, you can obtain the code yourself so long as you can find the connector for your system.
take your Camry to an Auto Zone parts store, they will hook it up to a diagnostics machine for free. Then you will know what your problem is.
Take it to your closest auto parts store (If it is a 1995 or later) and they can run a diagnostics on it and tell you exactly what is wrong. The service is also free of charge.
I just swapped one out in roughly 24 hours
It would greatly depend on your climate but a couple hours should do it.
