How long should front disk brakes last in a 2007 Toyota 4 runner?

This totally depends on the driving conditions. Someone in the city of San Francisco will wear theirs faster than someone in the city of Miami because of the Hills. A traveler that does a lot of Interstate driving wont use as much as someone that just goes to work through a lot of stop and start driving. Mileage wise the variations are to many to say how far you can go.

That being said there are things that can cut the life short. Riding the brakes is the worse. That's someone who keeps there foot on the brake pedal when driving. Also if the pads wore and rubbed on the rotor and gouged it out. This causes rough spots on the rotor that now act like sandpaper every time you step on the brake.

When I lived in Idaho I did a lot of long distance driving in my 4 runner and the pads needed changing every 2 years. Now in Florida with the stop and go driving I change them every year and a half. Give or take 3 months.
