Yes. In most cases an immediate response would be preferred, but wouldn't a person want a wise response having thought through the pros, cons, and future? Some are just "in love" with the "idea" of marriage. A marriage based upon the "love of marriage" or an escape from something else is not bound to last. Contrary to current trends, marriage is supposed to last forever. However, if a response is extremely delayed, take it as a sign to move on.

If she has said no to you, there would be more factors than simplu you not impressing her. With divorce rates being so high these days one should think twice before making any lifelong commitment and work out any existing issues there are before getting married. Too many people go into marriage with rose coloured glasses thinking marriage will fix everything, when really it's ultimately up to the couple to work it out together. I guess you need to establish why you're wanting to marry her, what you had in mind for after marriage (I see you're in a long distance relationship) and what issues she sees that cause her to say no and not take it too personally iwhen she brings up certain issues - as it's more about finding out what her needs/wants in life are and less of a reflection on whether you're good enough. It may also be a good idea to analyse what your own priorities and values are and see if hers are compatible with yours. .
