It is my understanding that you should wait 2 weeks before re-dyeing your hair because of the chemicals. I have know women that have dyed it sooner, but they have thick hair. It would fry my fine curly!
Actually, if you feel your color has faded a bit, try doing what we stylists sometimes do- "a soap cap." This is less damaging and won't cause color build up. Simply mix your haircolor using a 1 to 2 ratio (1 part tint, 2 parts developer), with an ounce of your color safe shampoo. Apply this to your entire head like a shampoo, wait about 15 minutes, then rinse. Follow up with a good conditioner.

You can dye it as soon as you'd like, but don't leave it on as long. 10-15 minutes should do. Just make sure to use a deep conditioner after.
