Usually your taste will return after your sinuses have healed from your recent bout with the flu. When in doubt, please seek the help of a qualified physician for appropriate diagnosis and treatment.

Yes, it is possible. Two things can contribute to this:

1.) During the surgery they will pry your mouth open (and when I say pry, I mean pry) with a metal device. They're rather rough with it so there is a bit of a chance that your tongue will be damaged. This causes you to want to not move your tongue and because of the swelling and inflammation you tongue will be less sensitive to food.

2.) You will most likely be congested and since smell is a part of taste, your taste is duller.

You should expect your taste to return after a month or two, and it is normally not a thing to worry about.

Is there a berry or berry juice that can help control chemo aftertaste to help control the metallic taste that chemo leaves?

There are foods and such that can overpower the metallic taste (such as lemons, pickles, peppers, sour candies, strong flavored chewing gum, etc.), but the metallic taste will come back once the taste of the food has been reduced. Unfortunately, there really is no long-lasting fix for the metallic taste during chemo treatments. In fact, the taste itself is the hardest thing to deal with, for some. What I would suggest is eating a lot of fruit (bananas, especially) and other foods that you like that have a long-lasting taste. Even though these foods will probably taste a little metallic, the stronger the taste of food, the better chance you have of getting a break from the metallic taste for a little while. It seems the only way to get rid of the taste is to wait until the end of treatment where it will slowly dissipate to nothing. Good luck and I hope you can find something useful! :)

Can you gain weight by stop taking acai berries?

As long as you maintain a healthy diet and excercise, you will NOT gain the weight back just because you stopped using acai berry. You might experience a decreased weight loss, but you will suddenly start gaining it back. If you stop using acai, stop eating healthy, and stop exercising, you WILL gain the weight back, if not more.
